Kids love eating yucky-looking things, so a jello pudding dirt recipe or red jello heart (the organ, not the shape) would really appeal to them. You can get Halloween jello molds in many shapes and sizes. Halloween cookie cutters are great for jello pudding cookie recipes and these come in cat, ghost and bat shapes, among others.
Evil Cloud Jello - Make a bowl of orange jello and, when it has partially set, drop some green food coloring on to it. Stir the orange jello gently and you will see the green food coloring drops swirl into dark clouds.
Jello Swamp Slime - You can make jello swamp slime by making some lime jello. Divide it between two containers when it starts to set. Beat one container of jello with Cool Whip or whipped cream. Stir gummi bugs into the other one. Top the gummi bug jello with the creamy jello and let it set completely. If you do not have Cool Whip, you can beat the container of jello without the gummi bugs into a froth with an electric blender or rotary whisk, and then use the froth to top the gummi bug jello.
Bloodshot Jello Eyeballs - Make red jello in small cups and let it set. Put a scoop of Cool Whip in each one, then put a raisin or berry on each scoop of Cool Whip, so it resembles an eyeball. Draw red lines using red food coloring and a Q-tip, so the eyeball looks bloodshot.
If you use gelatin instead of jello, you can use food dye to make the jello any color you like. You can also add any flavor you like by using essences like vanilla essence or almond essence. If you use jello, you can add drops of food coloring to alter the color.
Making black jello is not difficult. You simply make a dark colored jello like grape or black cherry jello, then some drops of black food coloring. Blue food coloring will make it very dark too, if you cannot get black.
You can make all kinds of Halloween jello treats. There are simple ones like using one flavor of jello in a spooky jello mold, and then more complex ones like bloodshot jello eyeballs or swamp slime with gummi worms. Find a few spooky Halloween jello recipes, get the ingredients together, and have fun making your spooky confections.

Jello is fun to work with and great to eat. It is also a brilliant ingredient to use at Halloween, for making spooky desserts. There are lots of jello Halloween recipes to choose from but a lot of the jello used to make Halloween jello molds or Halloween jello treats is brightly colored. Red jello and black jello are popular for making spooky shapes. Kids love jello Halloween recipes but your upholstery and carpets might not agree. What if they get stained?
If you are unlucky enough to get jello stains on your fabrics, do not worry. You can remove fresh stains by soaking and rubbing the stain with cold water, then washing it. Do not use hot water because it will "set" the stain and make it difficult to get out later. If the stain is old or dried, brush off any crusty bits, then use cold water and a liquid detergent with color-safe bleach to scrub at the stain. Next, wash it with lukewarm water and detergent.
