Get Creative with Jello - Some Clever Jello Ideas
There are all kinds of ways in which you can make your jello recipes more fun and more inventive. You can use a liquid other than water with the jello powder. You can combine different colors of jello and different jello flavors to get your desired result or combine creamy opaque jello with clear jello for special looks. If you can imagine what you want to do, there is probably a way of doing it.
Different Liquids You Can Add to Jello Recipes
Jello might traditionally be made with water but there are lots of other liquids you can use to make the best jello recipes. Fruit juice is a great example of how to make jello even fruitier and you can either use fruit juice as it is, or a mixture of half water and half fruit juice.
If you use milk or cream to make jello, bear in mind the jello will take about the double the usual time to set. This is normal so just plan your recipe well ahead of when you want to serve it.
Adding lemonade to raspberry jello is a wonderful way of adding a citrus flavor. Adding wine to a berry flavored jello adds a gourmet touch of flavor. You can add red wine and lemonade to raspberry, strawberry, or orange jello for a sangria flavor, which is beautiful for making a refreshing summer jello recipe.
White wine and champagne are other options and you can make a romantic valentine’s day jello recipe using champagne and real roses or a gourmet gelatin mold with white wine. Try adding coca cola to cherry jello for a delicious cherry coke jello dessert. Kool-Aid is another option, or even ginger ale. Mix your favorite soda with your favorite jello flavor and see what happens!
How Do You Make a Jello Mold?
If you want to try making a jello mold, you will find plenty of jello mold recipes. Jello molds are great because you can really use your imagination. If you have a jello mold in the shape of a Christmas tree, you will see that the baubles and gifts stand out. Pour red jello carefully into the Christmas tree jello mold until you have filled the baubles, the gifts, and any other bits that stick out, then leave it in the refrigerator to set.
Next, pour in some lime jello until the jello mold is full. You might need to use half a pack of red jello and two packs of green jello for this effect. When you unmold the Christmas tree jello, the tree will be green and the baubles and gifts (if you have done it right!) will be red. This is a clever effect but it is so easy to do. You can also buy edible silver balls and use these for the baubles, or use a different color of jello for the gifts.

Making Finger Jello with Fruit Juice
Finger jello is made by using half as much liquid as usual when making jello. To make finger jello you normally add a cup of boiling water to jello, let it set and then cut it into strips or shapes. Making finger jello with fruit juice is a similar process but use half a cup of water and half a cup of fruit juice, instead of just fruit juice. If you use all fruit juice, the end flavor will be very strong.
