This fluffy jello dessert serves ten people so it is one of the best jello recipes for parties. You can easily halve the recipe though simply by halving the ingredients and only using 5 serving glasses or a 3 to 4 cup jello mold. If your cool whip is not thawed, you can still follow the recipe. Just make sure you keep stirring until the Cool Whip melts in the warm liquid before you pour it into the glasses.
Try this with any flavor of jello you like. If you are using a different flavor, you might want to use white chocolate or milk chocolate pieces to garnish the dessert. Dark chocolate is just gorgeous with the flavor of orange jello though.
The whisking is very important, since it is the air in the creamy jello, which makes it light and fluffy. The heavier jello sinks to the bottom and the cream rises, giving this jello dessert a special two tone effect. Remember that beating jello doubles its volume, which is why this recipe makes more than you might imagine. This is a simple jello dessert recipe and these individual desserts look especially cute if you can find orange segment shaped dark chocolates.
Ingredients -
1 package (6 oz size) orange jello
12 ice cubes
3 cups boiling water
16 oz thawed Cool Whip
10 dark chocolate pieces
Preparation:
Combine the jello with the boiling water until it has dissolved, then add the ice and stir until it melts. If the jello starts to thicken before all the ice has melted, remove the remaining bits of ice.
Add the Cool Whip and whisk it in until well blended, using an electric beater or a rotary mixer. Whisk for at least 5 minutes, to make the jello nice and fluffy. Pour this mixture into 10 dessert glasses or a 6 cup jello mold and chill for 8 hours until set.
If you are using a mold, unmold the jello dessert on to a serving plate just before you serve it.
Decorate each serving glass with a piece of dark chocolate or decorate the unmolded jello with the chocolate pieces.

You can make blue jello with blueberry jello (look out for the "Berry Blue" flavor). If you want a darker jello, you can get navy blue jello by using two packs of blueberry jello and one of grape jello. Use two cups of boiling water and three packs of jello and you will be able to make a jello mold recipe in any color you like. This will be a jello jiggler kind of jello or a finger jello consistency. Two packages of pineapple jello and one package of grape jello results in brown jello.
