Almond Jello Recipe

Almond jello makes a tasty change from fruit flavored jello recipes. For this almond jello recipe, you use unflavored gelatin powder and almond flavoring, rather than a fruit jello powder. This is a delicious dessert to serve after dinner and goes very nicely if you have eaten an Asian meal.

If you want to make something simple, almond jello is always popular because it blends the jello texture, which everyone loves, with a delicate almond flavor, which is an unusual mixture. Of course, you could use vanilla flavoring instead of almond flavoring if you wanted to make a vanilla jello, or hazelnut flavoring if you prefer hazelnuts to almonds. When working with gelatin and flavorings, the flavoring you use it up to you.

The jello is made partially with water and partially with milk, making it creamy in flavor and giving it a good color too. The milk turns the jello opaque, rather than leaving it clear. You would get a clear jello with jello powder and water. This is a very soft jello so you can reduce the amount of liquid if you prefer a sturdier jello dessert. You can serve it cold with canned mandarin orange segments or some whipped cream as a topping.
