Many jello recipes make light, refreshing desserts, and this one is no exception. Using champagne for a light, tasty flavor, this champagne orange jello is light enough to be enjoyed at the end of a heavy meal. It is a fruity dessert, which looks good, decorated with orange zest and whipped cream. This is a nice, appetizing looking dessert, which has a wonderful fruity taste.
Wait until the champagne jelly is thick before you add the fruit, else it will just sink to the bottom. Actually that does not matter so much with this dessert because it will look nice whether the fruit is at the bottom or in the jello, but if you want a piece of fruit with every bite, wait until the jello is partially set before you add it.
If you want easy to make jello recipes, this is a very good one to try. If you do not happen to have champagne, you can use any sparkling white wine in this fruit jello recipe because it will taste the same. As you can see from the photo, this is an elegant looking dessert. This is one of our simplest orange jello recipes, because you just need to make the jello, add the fruit, and let it set. Some orange zest and a little dollop of cream is all you need for garnish. Since you are using champagne to make this elegant champagne orange jello, why not use your best wine glasses to present it in style? Champagne glasses are too narrow to get a spoon right to the bottom, so brandy snifters or red wine glasses would be better.
You can use champagne to make special desserts like champagne orange jello. You can also use sparkling white wine, which is probably a better idea than using an expensive bottle of bubbly! Champagne adds flavor to dessert recipes and orange jello with champagne, or champagne jelly as it is called in the UK, is one example of how to add flavor and fizz to your jello dessert.
Champagne is sometimes called for in fruit soup recipes. One popular fruit soup combines champagne with mint leaves and two kinds of fruit juice. If you think about it, what you are eating (or drinking) is more or a cocktail than a soup, but serving it in a soup bowl with a spoon means that it can be part of your meal. Eat it quickly though - there is a reason why champagne is usually served in tall flutes, and that is so it does not go flat!
Champagne can be used in tart recipes, cake recipes, pie recipes, cheesecake recipes and more. Because it is mixed with other ingredients, do not use an expensive champagne unless it is open anyway and you only need a small amount. You wouldn't use a rare vintage red wine for making a beef in red wine dish, so why use a costly champagne in a dish where you will not really taste it much anyway?
As well as sweet jello recipes like champagne orange jello, you can use champagne in savory dishes. You can use champagne in any recipe where you would use white wine. Its dry, slightly musty flavor goes well with fish, chicken, veal and lighter meats, as well as most seafood and fish dishes. Champagne can be used to marinate the meat or fish or to make the accompanying sauce. A little usually goes a long way.
