Jello salad recipes are becoming increasingly popular and this tropical layer salad includes bananas, pineapple and marshmallows. The topping for this jello salad recipe is rich and creamy. A layer salad looks good and is great for parties or as a dessert or sweet snack at any time. This delicious combination of fruit and cream appeals to adults and kids alike, and is nice served after dinner or even as a suppertime treat.
This jello salad recipe keeps well in the refrigerator for a couple of days if you do not finish it all at once. In fact, that is one of the great things about jello salad recipes and jello recipes in general. A lot of them make between four and eight servings, so you might like to make enough for two days and enjoy your jello recipe on both days. Jello keeps for two or three days in the refrigerator, or longer if it is just plain jello mixed with water.
Vinegar might sound like a strange ingredient in a dessert but the acidity adds a slightly tart taste to the overall sweetness and balances the flavor perfectly in this layer salad and many other sweet jello recipes. You can leave the vinegar out, if you like, but give it a try and you will see how it brings the flavors together well in this layered jello salad.
