This recipe for layered jello uses red jello, green jello, fruit, cheese, and cream for a smooth, rich flavor and an attractive look. When you unmold this recipe for layered jello, the green layer will be on the bottom, then on top will be a creamy red layer which the fruit, cream and cheese in it, and then on top of that some plain red jello, making this a triple layered jello dessert, even though you are only using two colors of jello.
Ingredients -
1 package red jello
1 package green jello
4 cups boiling water
1 cup heavy cream, whipped
Finely shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup seedless grapes
1 diced banana
Preparation:
Add half the boiling water to the red jello, stirring well to dissolve.
Pour half into a ring mold or other jello mold and refrigerate.
Let the remaining red jello get cold but not firm. When it is like syrup in texture, whip the rest of the red jello and fold in the fruit, cheese and cream. Pour this layer over the set layer of jello in the jello mold.
Refrigerate it.
Make up the green jello and let it cool.
Pour the green jello slowly into the jello mold and refrigerate for 4 hours.
Invert on to a chilled platter and serve.
