Strawberry Jello Salad with Cream and Fruit

This strawberry jello salad is very simple to make but it looks attractive and tastes wonderful. You might want to vary the fruit and use raspberries instead of the strawberries, but do not use fresh pineapple instead of the crushed pineapple because the enzymes in it will stop the jello from setting! The same applies to kiwi, gingerroot, and papaya. Add these to liquid jello and it will never set.

To smash the bananas means to mash them with a fork. The word smash does sound a bit violent but you can mash them gently. Making a banana mess all over the kitchen is not compulsory here! Smashing them just means you can combine them more easily with the other ingredients in this strawberry jello salad with cream and fruit recipe.
